Jennifer Crocker received her Ph.D. in 1979 from Harvard University, and has held faculty positions at Northwestern University, and the State University of New York at Buffalo and the University of Michigan in addition to her current position at the Ohio State University. She is the author of numerous scientific articles on the topic of self-esteem, and was awarded the Gordon Allport Prize for her research on social stigma and self-esteem from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI). Professor Crocker is Past-President of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology and the International Society for Self and Identity, which honored her with the Lifetime Career Award in 2008. Since she attended her first LaL seminar in 2000, her research has been strongly influenced by the insights of Learning as Leadership, and has provided scientific support for many of LaL’s working assumptions.
